Estevan, Saskatchewan, is the energy city and the sunshine capital of Canada. Estevan (10,242 population) is known for Boundary Dam as well as Shand Generating Station and also for its coal, oil and natural gas resources. Estevan Tourism operates the Tourism Information Booth on Highway 39 west of the city showing the Heritage Mining Equipment Display and the Souris Valley Museum. Estevan Tourism also offers free guided tours of the coal mines and power plants in the area. Each year, the Souris Valley Theatre brings people from all over North America to Estevan for six weeks for professional live theatre.
