The weather has been unusual this year in Grand Forks. The weather has either been drastically wet and stormy or exceedingly hot. The good thing about BedRock, is that it that the temperature is always stable. A solid structure and good air-conditioning keep the rooms nice and cool during the hottest days and you won't even hear the wind and thunder if it happens to be stormy.
Thankfully, the weather seems to be mellowing out but either way, we are well into summer.
If you are coming this way, don't forget to check out the farmer's market on Tuesdays and Fridays. In September, the Rock Creek Fall Fair and Grand Forks Fall Fair are held in their respective communities.
Welcome to the BedRock Bed and Breakfast. This is a modern bed and breakfast, built in 2011. It features three beds, one with a private ensuite and two with shared facilities. A laundry room, private kitchen, library and sitting area are available to guests. This property features a riverfront location with an incredible amount of privacy. Contact Alan or Sharon at 778-969-0010 for more information. Opened July 1, 2011!

Beautiful Summer Weather
Grand Forks is in the beautiful, balmy Sunshine Valley. The region gets warmer weather than one might expect with average summer temperatures at 28C (82F) and average winter temperatures ranging from -1.5C (29F) -8.5C(16F) in the winter.
At BedRock Bed and Breakfast, guests can easily regulate the temperature in their rooms with individual thermostats, connected to the geothermal system, and air-conditioning for those hot summer days. Rooms also have large windows that open to allow the air to circulate and the sounds of the river, crickets and marmots drift in. Don't worry, the windows are screened so you will only hear nature from your bed -- not feel it!
This summer has had unusual weather around the province with more rain in Grand Forks than normal. For Grand Forks, however, that just means everything is green and there is still plenty of sun. So far this month (June 2011) plenty of days have been bright and sunny with temperatures close to 30C.

Summer at the BedRock
Summer has really arrived at the BedRock B&B. Marmots are playing in the rocks, birds are singing, and the Granby is running high with runoff from the mountains. Make plans to visit us in the summer and see all the beautiful Boundary area has to offer.

Christina Lake
Christina Lake is located 15 minutes from Grand Forks and the BedRock Bed and Breakfast. This lake is known for being one of the warmest in Canada. It is located off of a small, resort town and has nearly unlimited outdoor recreation opportunities. The lake has plenty of warm, shallow areas for children to play in. The beach is 350 meters long and the provincial park is located on 6 hectares. The Trans Canada Trail runs from Grand Forks to Christina Lake. The lake is a perfect day trip from the bed and breakfast.
