Nestled on a beautiful 40-acre park, our Campground and RV Park provides a relaxed, natural atmosphere perfect for family fun. Conveniently located in the heart of Vancouver Island, just beside the Nanaimo airport (a 5-minute drive) and approximately 20 minutes by car from both ferry terminals connecting to Vancouver.
Featuring 30 and 50 amp fully or partial-serviced sites, ample green spaces, and cozy on-site RV Glamping units and cabins tucked away in the woods, Mountainaire is your ideal starting point or departure spot for a Vancouver Island vacation.
Enjoy our newly renovated bathrooms, warm showers, and on-site laundromat, along with the added convenience of an onsite store. Take a short hike through the rainforest to the breathtaking Crystal Bowl for activities like river swimming, cliff diving, kayaking, or even crayfish catching with your little ones. Young campers can bike down ramps, play in the playground, and witness the fascinating transformation of tadpoles into western toads (a species at risk). Don’t miss our renowned special events and unwind with a Friday night movie accompanied by free popcorn.

At Mountainaire RV Park, we’re all about family!
We have two families working together in our park, that we also call home. Our park boasts 40 acres of beautiful Vancouver Island Wilderness and 120 well maintained sites. We are centrally located on Vancouver Island in a family oriented, quiet (no highway noise), rustic style atmosphere, that is out in the country, yet minutes from the city.
Our park is a kid-friendly space with bike friendly roads, an excellent playground, and a great catch and release rainbow trout pond. In the summertime, young campers can watch millions of tadpoles hatch in the pond and witness an unbelievable number of the species-at-risk Western Toad toadlets make there migration from the pond, through to the forest. It is a fun and fascinating sight to see. Great for the whole family!
During the hot summer months , when you really need to cool down, take advantage of the best swimming hole on the Nanaimo River. It’s just a short walk through the incredible surroundings of the Vancouver Island Rainforest and is a favourite spot for swimming and cliff diving. Friday nights in July and August are Movie Nights. Kids vote during the day for the movie they would like to watch that night and there is free popcorn for everyone!

On those occasional rainy days, head on over to the store to play in the great Retro Arcade with games, pinball and crane machines. The stuffy machine is a hit with kids and adults alike. And yes, you can win at this thing!

No matter the time of year, you will always find our incredible staff there to help you with whatever you need. We strive to provide everyone with an enjoyable, memorable, and safe visit to Mountainaire RV Park. With the caretakers living on site, we maintain security and a quiet environment. The gates are closed at night, with no driving, lights, or noise after 10:00 pm.
