A celebration of “Horses in Our History” exhibit will be held at the James House Museum throughout June and continuing to August 20th. This popular exhibit profiles how horses made our history, locally and internationally. Find out where Sable Island Ponies really come from and how a horse belonging to a local Loyalist was responsible for the present day Morgan Horse breed!

On display are many items relating to horses and horse drawn equipment. The carriage shown in the photo was made by the Kentville Carriage Company which made horse drawn vehicles for many years. We are also encouraging local people who either had or presently have a horse to ad their photos to our memory wall area of the exhibit
