The Forest Echoes Cabins offers three individual cabins in a quiet friendly atmosphere 1/2 km from Cultus Lake on private forested acreage surrounded by Provincial Parkland. The cabins have an open design with a queen size bed in the loft overlooking a living area with a fold out sofa/bed. The addition of a roll-away cot gives each cabin a sleeping capacity of 5 persons. A grassy area with a picnic table and privacy fence is also provided for each cabin.
The cabins have a complete kitchen with a full sized fridge and stove, a table and chairs, as well as a coffee maker, kettle, pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, cups, wine glasses, salt and pepper, hand soap, dish soap and bath towels. All your bedding (sheets, blankets and pillows) are also provided. Each cabin also has a full bathroom with a tub/shower, as well as satellite TV, a ceiling fan and a floor fan.
Cultus Lake is one of the few recreational areas in British Columbia that offers an almost limitless variety of activities for vacationers. There is swimming, boating, waterskiing, sailing and windsurfing on the lake as well as hiking and biking on the many trails and roads. In addition there is a host of other attractions; newly expanded giant waterslides, two golf courses with restaurants, Giggle Ridge mini golf, boat rentals, a pub with a beer and wine store, a small plaza with a convenience store, cafe, Chinese restaurant, Sushi restaurant, Pizza restaurant as well as the new Pala Lago restaurant which offers a covered outdoor patio and upscale atmosphere. If you are looking to get away for a walk the beautiful Provincial Park beach pictured at left is just a short 10-15 minutes from your cabin. One of the main Provincial Park trailheads starts right off our road and is a short 5 minute walk from your cabin. This trail will take you through lush forest to the top of Mount Amadis (1505 m) or connect you to the rest of the many Park trails.
The nearby Chilliwack River Valley boasts renowned salmon fishing, river rafting, kyaking and excellent wilderness hiking. A host of trails for all levels offer stunning views of the spectacular North Cascade Mountain Range with its many clear mountain streams and pristine lakes. Also along the Chilliwack River and just a short 10 minute drive from your cabin is the popular 15 km long multi-use Rotary trail. This trail will take you along the river past the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve with its own trail system adjacent to the Great Blue Herons nesting grounds.
Artist Gary Haggquist (pictured at left atop Mt. MacFarlane in the Chilliwack Valley) along with his wife Ellie and family are the owner/operators of the Forest Echoes Cabins and invite you to enjoy a unique stay at their clean and friendly accommodations. The quiet, natural setting is perfect for couples and families. Ellie and Gary are there if you require any assistance or information as well as respecting your privacy if you don't. Many of Gary's evocative acrylic paintings have been inspired by the beauty of the local landscape and a private viewing of his onsite studio is available upon request. He is listed in the "Artists" section of the GoBC website where you can view examples of his paintings and find a link to his website. His work can also be viewed in person locally at the new Grey Area Gallery (a short 20 minute drive) in Chilliwack.
