The Arts & Culture Centre can be utilized as a single facility or combined with the Gander Community Centre for large multi-functional trade shows or conventions.

The Joseph R Smallwood Arts & Culture Centre was opened in July 1971. The Centre houses a 400 seat proscenium theatre, a 25 metre swimming pool, and art exhibition area. The theatre opened in 1976.
