Virden Travel Guide

The regional centre of Virden is serving south-western Manitoba. Oil was first discovered in 1951, and Virden has since come to be known as the "Oil Capital of Manitoba". The Canadian town is located at the junction of the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 83 and is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Wallace. Tourist attractions include the Virden Pioneer Home Museum, known as "Victorian Home on the Prairies".
