Canada Travel Guide - British Columbia
The Taseko Lakes define the colour of turquois. Fed by glacier streams from the highest mountains of the Coast Range and Chilcotin Mountains, the surreal colour is the result of light reflecting off water-born rock dust, ground by glaciers for millennia, and carried away by the river. The lakes are bordered by the Chilcotin Mountains to the southeast, and the Coast Range to the west.
